Lower Mission

The Lower Mission is Kelowna's oldest community, dating back to 1859 when Father Charles Pandosy established the first white settlement in the Okanagan Valley.

Sand, surf, shopping and schools. Where else in Kelowna can you really find something for everyone? Lower Mission has it all – grab a coffee and walk to the beach in the morning. Then browse the shops along trendy Pandosy Street. Find tonight’s dinner ingredients at a specialty grocer. Chances are, work and school are close by too. Some of Kelowna’s best schools are here - and with a mix of single family, townhouses and condos, there’s plenty of choice to plan your new lifestyle.

Nestled between the lake and Gordon Drive, and between KLO Road and Barnaby Road, Lower Mission is also a five-minute drive to downtown and just 30 minutes to Kelowna International Airport.

Family fun: Gyro Beach (3400 Lakeshore Rd.) With a rope swing and playground, it’s most definitely family friendly. Look for the big red apple for a tasty treat and fun photo op.

Adult fun: Memorable nights out just out your front door. Whether it’s dinner at one of the finest farm-to- table restaurants in the city, a sunset walk along the lake - or both, Lower Mission has you covered.

Did you know?: Lower Mission is Kelowna’s oldest neighbourhood. Recognizing the potential for growing fruit, former Governor General Lord Aberdeen planted orchards here in the late 1890s. We’re definitely enjoying the fruit of that labour today!
